
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - the old town area of Jakarta is a favorite Jakarta community getaway for the weekend. However, historical attractions in the region not only attract the people of Jakarta. Some visitors crowded Fatahillah Park from outside the region.
One was a gentleman named Eko of Nganjuk origin who had come to tour history. “I’ve come to the Museum Bank Mandiri, Bank Indonesia, Fatahillah, and Wayang Museum,” he told Kompas.com, Saturday (19/03/2011).
Other visitor is an art professor named Aji. He brought dozens of students to draw in the region. It also seems foreign tourists stop by to several museums in the near Taman Fatahillah.
Unit Head of Kota Tua, Candrian said traffic to the region reached 5,000 people per day. Wayang Museum alone on Saturday (03/19/2011) up at 14.00 had been getting visits of more than 350 people.
Meanwhile, bike rental handyman named Uan said he only got 10 tenant. “It looked really crowded, but the rent is a bit,” he said. Most of the visitors are coming to tour historical and special interest of photography.
